In this talk, Trish will speak to discoveries from personal learning, professional workshops and in time spent in the Earth-awareness teaching and retreat space. As a trauma therapist and an expert in trauma-informed MBI teaching, Trish will cover the following points:
• The ethos of Do No Harm in Earth-awareness practice and teaching
• What does it mean to de-colonize, and what are some ways to de-colonize your MBI classroom
• How this all relates to trauma-sensitive teaching

About Trish Magyari
Trish is the co-director of the MBSR & EcoAwareness Project. She is a Certified MBSR teacher and mentor. She has a Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling (Johns Hopkins University, 2009) and a private practice focusing on anxiety, depression, chronic pain and trauma healing. She is also a Certified Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) teacher since 2015 and was a mentor in the 2-year Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program (MMTCP) from 2018-2025. Trish became an Insight Meditation Teacher under Tara Brach in 2005 and founded the Insight Meditation Community of Baltimore.
