Dr. Patty Shutt will directly address the question put forth from MBSR teachers: Will eco-awareness traumatize my students? Learn ways to address professional hesitations; learn how eco-anxiety and eco-grief relate to trauma symptoms; and how Earth-informed MBSR might offer a framework for recovery.

  • Opening & Grounding: Acknowledging the "Ecological Gap" in modern mindfulness.
  • The Professional Hesitation: Addressing the fear: "Will this traumatize my students?”
  • The Cultural Context: Eco-anxiety as a form of "cultural grief and pain avoidance.”
  • The MBSR Framework as a Solution : Titration, the Window of Tolerance, and Gradual Exposure
  • From Anxiety to Agency: How connection fuels wise action without burnout.
